Cosmetology Instructor – 600 hours

Theory and Classroom Environment/ Lab-Clinic Practical hours

All hours taught incorporate textbook, workbooks, videos, demonstrations, reinforced by reading, testing and practical practice in the classroom environment and on the clinic floor with Students.  In addition guest speakers, demonstrators and vendors are invited to attend and enhance each component we find that lends itself to a better understanding and teaching of such subjects.

You are taught theory classes and clinical floor practice-lab.  All contribute to you being able to have an academic knowledge, understanding and ability to demonstrate the art and science of Cosmetology Instructor to obtain a state license for Cosmetology Instructor employment.

Each named class is taught from the text then demonstrated and practiced in a Classroom and Clinic Floor environment to learn techniques and application of what was reviewed in theory.

Characteristics of Teaching - Understanding The Portrait of a Teacher, which emphasizes the many roles of a teacher, through being a Motivator, a Coordinator, Leader and Role Model and a Reflective Professional.  Learning the Various Styles of Teaching, such as Influential, Dynamic, Unassertive and/or Authoritarian.

Students and Learning – Helping the Students Adapt and Absorb the Learning Process.  Learning  to teach the students to Aim for Success and to be able to recognize students as individuals.

Developing a Course of Study – Objective is to Access the Preliminary Analysis of Needs of Students Program, Learn the Aspects of Curriculum Development through Designing an Individual Course.
